The next 2 practices- Thursday May 8 and Tuesday May 13 will be at SPRINGBROOK. We should then assume our normal practice location at Memorial.

SHS Boys' Varsity Game Tonight
7:00 PM vs. Falmouth
SHS Boys' Varsity plays at home under the lights tonight against Falmouth. JV plays prior to that at 5:30.

Practice Location, Rosters
Practice on Thursday will be at Wiley Field (see Directions -> Home Fields) from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Unless you read differently here between now and then, we will return to Memorial next week.

Boys' 5-6 Team rosters are posted on the Players page. Please alert me to anyone we may have missed.

Important Changes!
- Games this weekend are at Back Bay rather than at Cumberland Round Robin. Please see schedule for teams and times; see Directions -> Away Fields for location.

- We are being told that our Thursday practice will be relocated from Memorial field, but we have not yet been told the new location. We will post when we know.

- We will be forming teams today that we will attempt to use for the rest of the season. This will mean much less standing around for players and parents alike. HOWEVER, our numbers are a bit tight for doing this. Success depends on every player attending every game to which their team is assigned.

- Coaches, please be prepared to collaborate on the team draft early in practice today.

Boys' 5-6
Weekend Information
As shown on our schedule, we have games this Saturday at 9 AM and 10 AM. Players should be ready to work out at 8:30 AM. For most players, that probably means they should arrive by 8:15 AM.

We have not and will not split into two teams for this weekend. First off, I am not yet entirely sure we have sufficient numbers to support 2 completely independent teams. Even if we do, vacation and bad weather have limited our opportunity to adequately evaluate players to make intelligent roster choices.

We will be sure that all players have adequate play time this Saturday. In the coming week, we either will divide into two teams or decide not to make such a division.

Boys' 5-6 Practice Canceled
Field too sloppy, even if the rain stops in time.

Consider attending the SHS Varsity Boys' home opener at 7 PM tonight under the lights. It's against Yarmouth, one of the premier teams in the state. Check the SHS Boys' News page (http://www.scarboroughlacrosse.org/SHSBoys_News.php) for cancellation notices. So far, it looks like it's on. I know the boys would appreciate the support, and I think the rain may tail off quite a bit by then.

Folks, I'm very sorry to have to do this to a bunch of kids who no doubt are champing at the bit, but the combination of cold and wet would not make for a good memory of the first practice. At present Wednesday looks a lot better weather-wise. Let's shoot for that, and hope it works out better.

Boys' 1-2 Begins This Week
Mon - Wed, 6 PM - 7 PM
This week we will begin sessions for the Boys' group at the 1st and 2nd grade level. We will play on Soccer Field #7 (please see links to Directions -> Home Fields). We hope to begin today (Monday), but the weather could be messy so please keep an eye on this page later this afternoon. I will plan to post a confirmation or cancellation of practice somewhere around 4 PM.

Thursday On Turf!
This Thursday we will practice on the SHS Varsity field. Practice is at the usual time (5:30-7:00). We will share the field with the Varsity Boys for the first 30 minutes. We will have it all to ourselves for the remainder of practice. We will need to be off promptly at 7:00 PM, when Odyssey soccer takes over.

Coach May Be Late
Folks, I have an annual physical exam today at 4 PM in South Portland. One would think that should give me time to get to practice by 5:30, but given past history I'm not totally confident. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find anyone to stand in for me, so practice may not start on time. I will be there as soon as I can. In the meantime, please do not allow kids to play catch without wearing their helmets. Thanks!

Wiley Field
Practice on Wednesday, April 16th is moving to Wiley Field. Wiley is at the end of Tenney Lane, turn left off Pleasant Hill, after the Highland Ave 4-way stop (coming from Route 1). The middle school will be at the Memorial Field this Wed.

Hi All: The Middle School needs to use the Memorial Fields tonight as their school fields are wet. We have been asked to use the Wiley Fields at the end of Tenney Lane. The Wiley fields are super so this is really a positive for us. Please try to arrive by 5:20 and look for me. We'll see what happens regarding Wednesday.

BOYS 3-4 Practice Wednesday
5:30 - 7:00 Memorial Field
The Boys grades 3 - 4 will have our first practice Wednesday 5:30 - 7:00 at Memorial Field. We will practice this season on Mondays and Wednesdays at Memorial Field (behind the Town Hall). Boys are next to the skate park. I'm looking forward to finally starting another fun season.
