Parents, this is your page!

Here we will address issues related to your child's involvement in Lacrosse.

It is also the page that will continue to remind you that your participation in the SYL organization goes beyond the transportation of your Lacrosse player to and from practices and games. SYL needs your help with all facets of running the organization.

Call or e-mail us to find out what you can do to enhance your child's involvement in the sport of Lacrosse. Volunteers need not have any prior experience in Lacrosse.

Hydration!

Fluid Consumption

One of the most important things that you can do for your lacrosse player, is to be sure that when they go to practices and games is that they have sufficent amount of water packed with them.

Follow these guidelines for proper hydration. During prolonged lacrosse matches and practices in the heat, body fluids lost as sweat must be replaced as frequently as possible to avoid dehydration and possible thermal injury. Drinking 12 to 20 ounces (1 -2 cups) of fluid 10 - 20 minutes prior to practice or competition is reccomended, it is extremely important to maintain the fluid intake by replenishing these fluids during the practice or game.

During prolonged excersise at least 8 ounces (1 cup) of fluid should be consumed every 15 - 20 minutes.

Keep in mind that a Lacrosse match has four 15 miunte periods and that a Scarborough Youth Lacrosse water bottle contains 32 ounces (4 cups) of water.

If you don't have yours yet let us know. We still have some available at cost.
